DARKNESS

Darkness. Un-snareable in all its
Depths.
From the scenery it ingests
We steal our houses,

Cage ourselves in light electrical.
Nature’s indifference,
Will swallow our concrete paths,
Black tongue across our windows.

It’s the panic of loss live in our wires.
Power revered
Over the dark clinging to our toes:
Shadows clawing at the concrete
To kiss the dirt beneath.
